Awareness First Aid Training

1/2 Day Course

Morning / Evening session

Course introduction

This is an awareness program is to educate layperson, family members & community on how to call for EMS (Ambulance service) during an emergency and understand the importance of CPR to increase survival rate of the patient. This program will also educate the participants importance & usage of Automated External Defibrillator (AED) at workplace. Foreign Body Airway Obstruction is a common cause of sudden death. This will be taught on how to dislodge choking object by using Heimlich maneuver. This 1/2 day talk does not include practical session or assessment. This Awareness program can be conducted in conjunctions with company's safety campaign and safety week.

OBJECTIVE OF THE COURSE

Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Realize the Importance of First Aid intervention and the role of a First Aider
  • Describe the correct procedure to call for help, including EMS (Ambulance Service)
  • Understand of emergency action principles (CPR)
  • Understand the importance of Automated External Defibrillator (AED) to increase survival rate
  • Understand signs & symptoms of choking & method to dislodge choking object (Heimlich Maneuver)
