Intensive Fire Fighting Training

Course introduction

This course is specially designed to introduce participants to the duties and responsibilities of a fire fighting team, and to obtain the necessary skills in fire safety, prevention and risk assessment. This course provides awareness of the danger of fire, guidance in the use of fire extinguishers and how to carry out the fire routine procedure. It also includes intensive elements in fire fighting like Breathing Apparatus Application, Hose Team, Drills and Introduction to Fire Truck and Equipment Functions. The training also help employers develop emergency response plans that will meet the specific needs of their businesses. This program trains ERT members to handle various emergencies by developing Emergency Response Plan (ERP), understanding Emergency Procedure and executing Incident Command System (ICS) during disaster.

OBJECTIVE OF THE COURSE

Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to:
• Understand different types of fire extinguisher
• Demonstrate the use of the fire extinguisher promptly
• Demonstrate the ability to manage small fire, safely and effectively
• Plan and prepare effective emergency plans
• Develop the hierarchy of commands
• Understand Evacuation & Emergency response procedures
• Lead and contribute directly in the event of emergency

  • Fire Team Members, Fire Wardens
  • Safety and Health Committee Members
  • Emergency Response Team Members
  • Persons who involved in fire routine procedure
  • For all employees up to supervisory level who would be required to assist in the event of fire emergency

CERTIFICATION & VALIDITY

Having completed and passed the course, participants will be awarded with Certificate of Training. Without retraining, knowledge might be forgotten while skills may deteriorate rapidly when not being used / practiced. Therefore, yearly retraining is very much recommended.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

  • Physically and mentally fit
  • Experience in fire safety is an added advantage and is highly recommended

CERTIFICATION & VALIDITY
